Parents and Grandparents Super Visa
The Parent and Grandparent Super Visa was created to replace the lengthy sponsorship processing for permanent residence, so that family members may be reunited more quickly. Also, it is a good alternative for parents and grandparents who do not want to stay in Canada permanently, but wish to have a lengthy stay with their family without worrying about visa renewal every 6 months (currently, most visitors to Canada may visit for up to six months when they first enter Canada). Even a 10-year multiple entry tourist visa would have a status period for each entry of six months only. Visitors who wish to stay longer must apply for an extension, and pay a new fee. With the Parent and Grandparent Super Visa, eligible parents and grandparents can visit family in Canada as many times as they wish over a 10-year period and stay for up to two years without the need to renew their status and this is how does the Parent and Grandparent Super Visa differ from a regular visitor visa.
